Porter Ranch Police Charge Driver of Car Killed Two Teens

Driver in Porter Ranch car crash that killed two teens will face charges, police say

Police in Porter Ranch said they have charged the driver of a vehicle involved in a fatal car crash near a high school that killed two teenagers.

The crash was reported shortly after midnight Thursday. The driver, who has not been identified, has been charged with vehicular homicide, negligent homicide and leaving the scene of an accident, police said Friday.

Officers did not determine an exact cause of the crash but said the driver appeared to be speeding when the car struck a motorcycle, which was also reported struck by a Honda CRV being driven by a 15-year-old girl.

The crash, which occurred along Interstate 880 at West Chapman Street in Porter Ranch, was described by police as “badly traffic-related.”
