MANILA, Philippines — A police report said a Bulgarian contestant of a popular reality show “Survivor” has died due to a heart attack where filming of the episode is ongoing at the Gota Beach Resort, an island resort in Caramoan, Camarines Sur Philippines.

Survivor Bulgarian contestant named as Noncho Vodenicharov died Saturday after the attempt to save by the Filipino medical team and assisted by a Bulgarian doctor, police told. Chief Inspector Hilario Lelis, the police spokesman told Monday that Vodenicharov had just finished an activity for the Bulgaria Survivor contest at the Gota Beach Resort in Caramoan township in eastern Camarines Sur province and suddenly suffer a heart failure. Noncho Vodenicharov was a former stunt man, singer and a town mayor as Bulgarian news reported.

Survivor BG is the Bulgarian version of the reality show Survivor, broadcast and produced by bTV. The show’s first season was filmed on a deserted island in the Caribbean off the coast of the Dominican Republic in the summer of 2006 by an international Bulgarian-Argentine team. Slavi Trifonov’s Seven/Eight Productions was a Creative Producer of the first season of the show; PromoFilm – Argentina and bTV Production Team. The first season was hosted by the famous actor Kamen Vodenicharov. The show started on 20 September 2006 and ended on 11 December 2006. 16 Bulgarians (8 women and 8 men) took part in the first season. The prize was 250,000 leva (about €125,000).
